Demetria Devonne "Demi" Lovato was born on August 20, 1992 in Dallas, Texas. She is an American actress, songwriter and musician. Her mother, Deana Lovato, was a country singer and a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Demi has two sisters, Dallas, who is five years older, and Madison, who is the little one. She studied at Cross Timbers Middle School in Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District, where she was a part of the choir. She achieved many talent contests in Texas. At the moment, she is home schooled by tutor due to her hectic schedule.

Demi began her acting and singing career as Angela on Barney & Friends when she was six years old. During the TV show, she made best friends with her co-star Selena Gomez. Both stars have fun making videos with a webcam and upload them to YouTube. When asked about how long the two actresses have been friends, Demi replied, "When I asked her to sit on my jacket and draw with crayons with me! (at the Barney auditions)".
